{Ten Dollar Target Trip}

A bunch of my favorite bloggers do a $10 to Target post. Basically, you have $10 to spend at Target any way that you want. You post about the things you bought and post a picture of your receipt. Well, I have always loved this idea and {not-so-secretly} wanted to join in. I was so excited when they announced they were going to make it a monthly link-up!! Below are the hosts:

So, how did I do for my first $10 Target trip? This was hard for me! I love Target and always spend like $50 plus every time I go there. And if I am being completely honest, I completely failed...twice.

So, the first time I went to Target I took one look at the dollar spot and knew this would not be my $10 trip. It was just fully stocked and had the cutest Easter/Farmhouse stuff. And if it's one thing I have learned about our Target it's to grab the dollar spot stuff while it's there. It definitely will not be there the next time you go back. So, I stocked up and scored these beauties...

Metal trays, cute candle holders, a white bunny, light up easter egg lights, a tablerunner, chalkboard and Easter sign & tree...how could I pass those up?

I went back to Target two days later and tried really, really hard, but still couldn't do it. I found the cutest things to start Mason's Easter basket! And I knew I had to scoop those up before they were gone, too. I mean, most of everything I purchased just two days before was already gone! That's how fast it goes in my area. I guess it's because we have the only target in our area. Anyhow, here is what I bought at my 2nd ten dollar target trip attempt.

So, I did better on my 2nd attempt, but still failed. I guess I will have to try again next month!

Did you join in on this? How did you do?

  2. Bahaha ha! I love it! I am so, so glad that they hadn't put out all of the cute Easter stuff yet when I went the day after Valentines. Otherwise I probably would have done the same exact thing.

    Thanks for linking up!

  4. You scored on that Easter Farmhouse stuff! So cute! I'm going to try this next month. I think it's pure genius that it took you a couple of tries to do it, too! I can explain five or six $10 trips to Target to my husband a lot easier than a $60 trip for no reason!! :)

  7. I could never do the $10 trip! With our target being 20 minutes away, I stock up! I never get out of there under $100... So you did better than me! And we got Noah those gardening tools from the dollar section too! Our target is the same way, you have to grab it or else it will be gone the next time.

  8. Lol it's not your fault. It's near impossible to make it out of Target under 10$ because everything is so darn cute!! Plus if it's a good deal that means you get to buy double the stuff, right?!?!

  9. You got some good stuff so failing at the $10 challenge isn't that bad! I need to do this challenge just to have an excuse to go to Target!

  13. hey, at least you spent ten dollars less the second time! btw I wanted to buy Avi a gardening set similar to the one you bought, but I ended up buying only the tools.

  14. You are so right!! You HAVE to get the stuff from the dollar spot when you see it because otherwise it's for sure gone. I do the same thing!! Looks like Mason scored some awesome stuff though :) And you're Easter decorations are going to be amazing!

  15. That's the hardest part of this challenge - staying close to $10!! Some months it takes me a few tries to get it right. I haven't seen the Easter stuff yet, but I'm feeling like I definitely need to stop in and stock up. I'd love to find an Easter basket for my baby boy just in case he arrives before Easter and then find goodies for my daughter's basket :) I love all of your finds!

  16. You found some cute stuff!!! Our Dollar Spot is like yours - if you don't grab the stuff right away it's gone!
    I love the idea of a $10 trip, but I just know I can't ad hear to that small amount.
