Back in December, we had a huge family cruise planned for the whole Hall family. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, we were not all able to go. We wanted a do-over with at least some more of the Hall clan...so we planned a Carnival Cruise together! We had never cruised with Carnival before, so we went with an open mind. Especially just coming off a Disney cruise 7 short months prior! However, we were pleasantly surprised by Carnival. More on that later. Here's a look at our first day on the Carnival Breeze!
When we got to the port we learned that the computers were down and there were still people on the ship from the previous cruise! Which meant that those waiting to board would have to wait longer. We were one of the earlier boarding times and already in line. Thankfully, they moved us inside so that we did have to stand out in the heat! Nathan, Mason, and I had to get in a separate line from the rest of our family due to him having a vaccine exemption. We had to have his exemption verified, his negative test verified, as well as get him another test administered before boarding. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long and actually got on the ship pretty quickly once the computers came back up!
Once we boarded, we went straight to our muster station for the drill, walked around a bit, and then went to grab some lunch on the lido deck. Then we let Mason play at the waterpark. I think he was 1 of 3 kids on the waterslides, so he enjoyed that.
Our rooms were ready around 1:00 pm so we went to check them out. Not bad for an interior room! We had plenty of room. Nate and I had a queen-size bed and Mason's bunk lowered from the ceiling. We dropped some things off, regrouped, and went back out to the Lido deck. We wanted to try to grab a seat for the sail away party! We got super lucky and snagged some couches on the middle deck! Nate played a little ping pong while we waited.
The sail-away party was so much fun! We had a blast. And we got to meet the cruise director, Jasper. He was fun and energetic. Later that day we went to dinner in the main dining room. Our waiters were fabulous!! Then we watched the sunset from the back of the ship.
Later that evening we went to a Welcome Aboard show with the cruise director, walked around some more, and then called it a night. It was an awesome first day on the Carnival Breeze!
