{This past weekend}

Happy Monday! It's a rainy and dark day over our way. We had some bad storms roll through in the middle of the night and today is just yuck! But, Mason has no school and Nate has a day off work. While I am working, I am happy to be at home with them. So, I kind of took a little unexpected blogging break. Actually, it's been radio silence across all social media platforms. The only excuse I have is...LIFE! We've had so much {good} going on and because of that I've had no time to blog or post to Instagram {I haven't posted on IG since Super Bowl Sunday...what?!}. Anyhow, I am ready to be back. While the break was somewhat refreshing, I do miss this space. Let's jump back in with a look at our weekend {another in which I failed to document by pictures!}...

...this past weekend Nathan and I had a date night on Friday! We had planned on eating at Texas Roadhouse, but plans quickly changed. We pulled up at 5:45 and saw no less than 25 people outside already waiting! We decided to not spend our evening waiting for a table so we settled on Mexican Inn just a few blocks down. It was a good choice! We got right in and the food was great. After supper we went to the Christian bookstore to grab our next devotional for church. Then we drove to Fort Worth because Nate needed a few things from Cabelas. After that we met some of our dear friends from church at Red Robin. We had already ate so Nate and I grabbed a dessert! It was such a great night.

...this past weekend Mason didn't want to come home after our date so he spent the night with  his Nana and Papa.
...this past weekend I got a new pillow and have slept like a rock ever since!
...this past weekend Nate and I worked in the shop a bit Saturday morning. He worked on his kayak and I painted a cabinet I'm going to use for my Cricut machine and supplies.
...this past weekend we drove to Grand Prairie and ate at our favorite little place again.
...this past weekend we helped Nate's Grandparents go through and pack up things for their move.
...this past weekend we moved some of Nate's Grandparent's furniture to their new assisted living apartment.
...this past weekend we went to Bass Pro Shop and just like every other time my boys played Big Buck Hunter.

...this past weekend we took Mason to the movies to see the new Lego Batman movie. I went into the movie with very low expectations and ended up loving the movie! It was so good.

...this past weekend I got started on my Sunday morning routine a little later than normal. I was exhausted and had a hard time getting out of bed. I also contribute that to the new pillow. But, I got our grocery shopping done before church and still had time to come home and do some laundry and dishes before we had to leave.
...this past weekend we had an amazing sermon at church. I sure am going to miss Pastor Brian's sermons.
...this past weekend we skipped the boy scouts field trip because we were craving an afternoon at home!
...this past weekend Mason's little friend came over and they played for a good two hours. They'd run back and forth between our two houses playing.

...this past weekend we spent Sunday getting things done around the house. Nate installed his new fish finder to his kayak while I made a bunch of projects on my Cricut. I bought it with birthday money back in January, but have had zero time to play with it. I'm still learning it, but having so much fun with it so far. I also got tons of laundry, sweeping and vacuuming done!

...this past weekend was another good one!

How was yours?

  6. So glad to hear you guys have so much good happening right now - those kinds of blogging breaks are the best kind! Yay for a date night! I actually want to see Lego Batman myself. I wonder if Mila would enjoy it, haha. May have to wait for DVD! Loving all the fun things you made with your Cricut. I really want a Cricut or Silhouette or some type of machine like that - but I can't justify spending the money on one right now. One day I will have one though!! :) Enjoy your week!!

  7. Oh my goodness girl you need to open up a shop! Your projects are AMAZING! So jealous of your Mardel trip. The closest one to us is an hour away and every time we go to that town, I forget to make a stop :P.

  9. Another great one in the books! I have heard Lego Batman was great but that batman is kind of a jerk! Lol! I'm sure that has been tough going through his grandparent's things! We just went through that with my Grammy. It's sad.
