{100 Days Smarter // 100th Day of School}

Today is the 100th day of school and Mason is officially 100 days smarter!!! For the 100th day Mason's school let them dress up as a 100 year old version of themselves. It was so much fun to put this together. It's hard to tell in these pictures, but he is sporting the perfect shade of gray hair! I learned from a teacher at PTO that you can buy a cheap can of dry shampoo and basically use the whole thing and it gives the perfect shade of gray/white hair! It really worked so well and it smelled good too! Beats the Halloween hair color spray hands down. I am so glad we kept those suspenders that we used a couple of Halloween's back! They were perfect for today's theme. I think Mason makes an adorable 100 year old!

First grade seems to be flying by, just like Kindergarten did. While I wish time would slow down so that my baby will stop growing so fast, I really am looking forward to the summer and having Mason home with me for a bit. I miss him so much when he is at school.

Mason is doing so well in first grade and Nathan and I are extremely proud of him! He's working so hard to fight through his ADHD and to focus and make good grades. He was just tested and he's reading at a 4th grade level in the first grade! His spelling has really taken off recently and he can spit out the letters to some pretty big words. He also has a better memory than Nathan and I combined. If you tell him you're going to do something you better follow through because he will not forget. Ever. I wouldn't say that he loves school. He says that they do too much hard work. He does love his teachers and his friends and the social part of it, though. He recently found out there is a such thing has homeschool {many families at our church homeschool} and he's currently seeking how he can make that happen! I would love to homeschool him, but that would be entirely too hard with me working a full time job at home. Mason's favorite subjects in school are Science {mostly going to the science lab}, Art, and Social Studies. His least favorite subject is Math. And we all know that lunch and recess are his favorite parts of the day! That boy loves to talk and he gets to do so at lunch and recess. He also talks about PE pretty often. This is a welcomed change because he absolutely hated PE last year.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the school year has in store for us! February is a very busy month of field trips, parties, book fairs, a happy camper event, character day, and more.

  2. Oh my goodness. I love this. I saw it on your IG and thought it was such a cute idea. I have seen the shirts with 100 pieces of something. I don't remember doing this when I was a kid. So cool.

  4. What a cute old man! Haha. I swear all the schools around here did 100 year olds as the theme for the 100th of school, such a funny idea.

  10. Adorable! The way you took / edited the pictures makes them look older too. Our kindergarten does a big thing for day 100 but it's not such a big deal in 1st grade...I haven't heard if it's happened yet or if it's coming soon or what!
