{Winter Bucket Update // A Polar Express and Grinch filled weekend}

Time for another bucketlist update! This one deserved it's own post. It's one of our favorite trips and we look forward to it each year...our Polar Express and Grinch weekend! We travel a couple of hours East to a quaint little town nestled in the Piney Woods for a weekend of camping, train-riding and Grinching. This year it rained the majority of the time, but we still had a great time.
We arrived on Friday afternoon just before all of the rain hit. We checked out our campgrounds before we went to a really neat park in town to play. I love the area and all of the tall pine trees. I just wish the weather would have cooperated with us so that we could have explored outdoors a little more. We'll just have to go back sometime!

Saturday afternoon we went to the Grinch's Lair. We did this last year and had so much fun! This year didn't disappoint either! The Grinch remembered Mason and spent so much time with him! Mason loves it. We spent a solid two hours there just hanging out with the Grinch!! The Lair is set up in an old jail in town. It's called the Haunted Little Jail and it's so neat inside. Each room is decorated and the Grinch just mosies around the whole place visiting with people and putting on little acts.

That evening was the Polar Express! We had tickets for 8:00 pm. We wanted it to be dark and to feel more like the movie! It's our favorite time to ride the train. It was still a rainy mess when we go there, so we didn't get any good pictures of cute decorations outside. And our pictures from the train ride are grainy and dark. Such a bummer! But the memories and the magical feeling we experienced on that train will last forever! If you've never rode on a Polar Express ride I highly recommend it. The only way I can accurately describe it is magical! I feel like it gets better each year that we go. We had the most incredible and interactive staff, which helps make the experience even better. Mason was so sad when it was over and asked if we could sleep over on the train!

  1. The Grinch is awesome! What a cool activity to do together. I love that the Grinch remembered Mason. I cant' wait to go on the Polar Express next year. We decided to wait another year because Emmy is so unpredictable sometimes. It looks like an amazing experience.
