{Three Things // December Edition}

Several of my blogging friends have started writing a 'three things' post and I loved the idea, so I borrowed it. It's such a fun and simple way to share current happenings in our lives at this particular time. Here are three things about my little family.

Nate:
One //  He finally got his kayak! He's been researching kayaks for almost a year now so that he knew exactly what he wanted {since they cost a small fortune}. He is over the moon excited and I am so excited for him.

Two // Nathan is off work for Christmas shut-down! I love that his company closes for a couple of weeks to give them time with their families for the holidays. He will work a couple of days of overtime, but he's off for the majority of it.

Three // Friday is his birthday!! He mentioned the other day that he's never had to go to school or work on his birthday! How cool is that? It always falls during winter break!

Mason:
One // This little guy had the best Christmas ever! He only asked for one thing. ONE. {The Lego Jokerland set} And Santa delivered that plus so many other great surprises! He got an XBox One with the Minecraft bundle and he has said no less than 97221577 times that "this is the best thing ever!"

Two // Mason has the sweetest and most tender little heart. He cried himself to sleep on Christmas because he didn't want his elf, Max, to leave. He kept saying, "I just love him so much and he's a part of our family. I don't want him to leave!" It melted and broke my heart all at once.

Three // Mason is such a people lover! We attended Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at the church we used to attend and after the service Mason asked me so sweetly, "Mom, can I please tell everyone Merry Christmas?" So he went up to random people that he has never seen before to tell them Merry Christmas. And at our church anytime someone sticks their hand out to shake his he embraces them with a giant hug instead.

Crystal:
One // I am so incredibly sad the Christmas season is over. It flew by entire too fast and I feel like I didn't get to embrace it for long enough. It's my most favorite time of the year. My home will look so empty without all of my Christmas decor. If my tree weren't already drooping I would probably leave it up the month of January. But I am sure I will be forced to take it down sooner once my ornaments start sliding off the dead limbs!

Two // I am so behind on everything right now. Blogging, reading blogs, answering emails, Instagram, uploading and editing pictures, housework, laundry, and let's not even talk about the roots on the top of my head. We've been too busy living and doing things lately. While I often feel overwhelmed by it, I'm really not sad about it. The family time has been too precious.

Three // I got an iPhone 7 plus for Christmas and y'all I am so impressed with it. The camera alone is worth it! I am loving the 'portrait' mode on the camera. I took a picture of Mason the other day in front of the Christmas tree and it looked like it came off my big camera. I feel like I say this every time I upgrade my iPhone, but this is my favorite yet.

  1. My little guy was heartbroken about his elf leaving too, so we put this guy in his stocking---it is a hit! https://www.amazon.com/Elf-Shelf-Plushee-Pal/dp/B002TIU1ZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482857739&sr=8-1&keywords=stuffed+elf+on+the+shelf

  2. My kids were heart broken about their elf leaving as well. They always start talking about our elf right after Halloween so they love having him here. I loved this post. Have a great day!

  4. My husband's company closed on the 19th and they re-open on the 3rd. It has been SO nice having him home!!
My kids were so sad when our Elf left too, Emma (the 2 year old) still looks for her every morning until someone breaks the news to her that Trixie is back at the north pole.

  5. Cam was sad our elf had to go back to the North Pole too. I feel just like you about Christmas. We wait so long for it to get here, but the entire month is so magical I hate when it ends. I took my decorations down yesterday and although I love how clean and fresh the house looks I'm sad all of the pretty is gone.

  9. I'm sad about Christmas being over, too. I'm so glad that we leave our tree up until New Year's Day... it's nice to hang onto it for a little while. And I feel you about being behind on everything. I'm finally starting to get caught up today. I haven't even thought about blogging stuff the last four days!

  10. That's such a cool fact about Nate & how his birthday falls! Oh & that sweet Mason of yours. What a tender hearted boy. You & Nate are doing so good with that boy! I fell behind TWO days on the photo challenge. I can't believe that! I'm always so on top of those type of things.
