{Currently // Catching Up}

It's been a while since I have visited this space. The last two weeks have been a blur! I left last week for a business trip in Seattle, WA. Our home office is there and we went to visit and to join them for a Christmas party. It's been 8 or 9 years since we have visited WA and we have never attended the Christmas party. It was a wonderful trip! It's always so hard to leave your family, your home and your comfort zone, but I am so glad that we went. The trip really put many things into perspective for me and I left with a full and grateful heart. I work for such an awesome company. The owner and his wife really value their employees and they are just amazing people. Plus I got to see snow, mountains and one of my dearest and best friends!! So incredibly thankful for this!
Ashlea and I met over 5 years ago through our blogs and instantly clicked. Since then we have talked almost every single day and have gotten so close. She and I have walked through so many stages of life and motherhood together and I have cherished every minute of her sweet friendship. Ashlea only lives 3 hours from where I was going to be for my work trip. Tuesday after work I had the rest of the evening off so Ashlea drove to spend the evening with me. I am so thankful for this gem! We hung out in the hotel and then went to have dinner in the prettiest area! Every corner was lit up with Christmas lights and it was just beautiful. We only have grainy iPhone pictures {since it was so dark}, but the memories we'll have forever! I just love and adore her.

I got home from my WA trip around 9pm Thursday night and then turned around and left for another trip Friday am. We headed a couple hours southeast for some camping, Grinch's Lair and the Polar Express. It rained the entire time limiting my picture taking, but we still had a great time. It's one of our favorite Christmas traditions. This is a picture from last year and one of my favorites to date!

And now a little 'currently' until I can catch up on everything else we've done the last few weeks!

Loving
Life. Christmas. Family. Friends. Our church. Everything. I am in such a joyful state right now and just feel so incredibly blessed for this sweet life.

Not Loving
Jet lag man! I didn't sleep the nights prior to the trip or during the trip to WA. And then I rushed into another trip with the family. It's catching up to me big time!

Reading
Fervent by Priscilla Shirer. I started it on the plane ride to WA and y'all it's SO good. Life changing. I'm sure I will share more about it once I finish, but I highly recommend it.

Listening to
A good mix of Worship and Christmas music and I love it!!

Watching
Absolutely nothing. I can't tell you the last time I watched a show. Life has been too busy and crazy to sit down any length of time. But, Mason and I have a ton of Christmas movies saved to our DVR and we can't wait to watch them.

Missing
My church and church family. I missed Wednesday night because I was in WA and Sunday because we were traveling back home from our Polar Express trip. I can't wait until Wednesday! And I am missing my sweet friend Ashlea. 14 hours was just not long enough.

Needing
To finish my Christmas shopping. And wrapping. Oh the wrapping. I am not a big fan of wrapping all the things. I wish I could hire someone to do it for me.

Looking forward to
So many things! Bethlehem Revisited, a benefit for a sweet family at our church, Christmas on the square, candle-light Christmas Eve service, Christmas service, and Christmas with the family.

And that's all I've got...for now. What is currently going on in your world?

  3. That is so awesome when you can get together with blogging friends. One of my best friends, Ashley, I met while blogging. She's from Kentucky & I went down to visit her once & this past summer she made it up to Wisconsin to visit me. I love it! :)

  5. I am so excited for you that you got to meet a blog friend. I really wish there was a HUGE blogging convention every year and every blogger was required to go and we would all meet up and hit it off in person as much as we do in the blog world. :)

  6. Missed you while you are away but it sounds like you are doing well friend. What is Bethlehem revisited? It sounds similar to Journey to Bethlehem (something we did this past weekend).

  9. Jet lag is the worst! Or, does road trip lag count? Is that even such a thing? The hubby & I were gone 3 days last week, and man this week I'm struggling!

Love all the happiness this post, radiates! :)

  12. I'm so glad your trip went well and you got to include a visit with such a dear friend! And I feel the same way about wrapping. I love pretty wrapping but do tire of wrapping when I have 30+ gifts!

  13. You have been so busy! I feel you on the jet lag. Every time we go to or from the grandparents in the Midwest it takes us all a few days to get back into the swing of things!
We're pretty much set with Christmas gifts, but now I just need to find the motivation to get everything wrapped!
