Nathan and I started back at the gym this week. We had been wanting to get back to a gym routine for a while and then Nate took an un-expected day off on Monday and it was the perfect time to make ourselves go. I think it only takes that one time to get you back excited about it. We went at lunchtime on Monday and it felt so good to be back. Our gym has all new treadmills and the are pretty awesome. Praying we keep up with it because Lord knows that we need to.

Last week on Friday Five I shared about our Texas DIY and how we weren't happy with it. Well, we sanded it and refinished it again and this time we are happy with it. We added a dark stain to it, but wiped it off before it could completely soak and dry. We love how it shows the natural grain of the wood and some parts are darker than others. And it looks much better on our light walls.

DIY Texas Pallet

{F O U R}

I received an email from Audible this week and it made me remember that I still needed to cancel that membership. I went into cancel it on Tuesday and saw that I had 6 credits available. OOPS! I couldn't cancel with 6 credits just hanging there. So, I started searching books and added many to my list. The first one I selected was The Antelope in the Living Room by Melanie Shankle. It was only 4 hours and 22 minutes. I listened to it while I worked, at the gym and in the car to and from school. I finished it by Wednesday morning. The 2nd book I downloaded was Simply Tuesday by Emily P Freeman. I have this one downloaded to my Kindle, but who am I to say no to someone reading it to me? :) I am pretty sure that I will go back and re-read this on my Kindle because there is so much goodness that I want to note and re-read and study.

Now I am wondering if I will even delete my account. I'm kind of loving it. What are some good books I should check out?

  1. I love to read and I'e tried audiobooks but they just don't work for me. My mind always end up going somewhere else. I LOVE the after-after of the Texas. I need an Arkansas one pronto :)
    Have a great weekend!

  4. The DIY re-do turned out great! Loving the darker stain. And yay for getting back into a gym routine. That's been my goal this year too, after basically taking a whole (pregnant) year off. It really does feel so good once you start working out again.

  8. Woohoo for gym time!! Working out (regardless of where) is seriously my happy place. I am amazing at the instantaneous good mood that comes after a workout. Keep it up!!

    How was The Antelope in the Living Room? I've only ever read Sparkly Green Earrings, but thought it was hilarious and totally relatable.
