Linking up with Ember Grey for a Grateful Heart.
Happy Monday friends!! I am starting this week with a heart so full. Even though Mason was sick with the flu most of the weekend, we still managed to have a good one. On Saturday I was able to sneak away for a few hours to visit family at my parent's house. My Great Aunt was in from Illinois for a visit so a lot of my dad's side of the family came over for a cookout and to see her.
It was so, so good for my soul! My Aunt Tammy is a blessing to be around and a woman of faith. I just adore her and am so encouraged by her. It had been 14 years since I seen her last. That's just entirely too long!! And you know what? She and I were talking in the bedroom and she told me that my faith blesses her. Tears....tears...tears...and more tears! I am grateful that I can be a blessing to her, because she is just that to me.
Nathan, Mason and I were able to go back over for a few hours on Sunday. It was my Aunt Tammy's first time to meet Mason. They talked about where Aunt Tammy lived and how cold it gets there. Mason asked her if it snows and she told him that it does. So then of course he asked her if she builds snowmen! Aunt Tammy promised him that if they get snow this year she will build a snowman and send a picture to Mason. He loved that!!
It was such a nice visit!! And it made my heart so happy! So, for this week I am Grateful for family. And for being able to make up for lost time. And for memories!! And for smiles and for laughter. And for all the amazingness that comes with spending time with family.
Such a blessing to have people like this in your life.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! Wow - 14 yrs is a long time, but it sounds like you ladies just picked up right where you left off :) Isn't it so refreshing to have such positive and uplifting people in your life who just brighten your day? I am really blessed that my aunt and I are so close. She is also Marli's godmother and not seeing or talking to her for more than a couple days is just too long. She's like a 2nd mother to me and I am so thankful for her.

Full heart. I have an aunt I'm super close to as well - have been since I was a little girl. Our time together is always so special and treasured. So cool that she and Mason finally got to meet! Wishing you a beautiful rest of the week, friend :)
