{Jellystone Park - Fall Fiesta}

Hey y'all!! Happy Texas Tuesday!!

Masons Mama

What is Texas Tuesday? A chance for you to show off the awesomeness that is TEXAS!! You can blog about anything; restaurants, vacation spots, venues, concerts, your hometown, shops, fashion, sports, etc. The linkup is not limited to Texans, we just ask that the post is about Texas.

This past weekend we stayed at Jellystone Park for their Fall Fiesta. Mason had a blast and got to do so much!! It was a very Halloween-y weekend.

Friday evening we got to ride on the Hey-Hey-Hey Ride. While on the Hey-hey-hey ride every time you see a person in the park the entire ride says, yep, you got it...hey hey hey! The kids absolutely loved it. And Mason, well, he marches to the beat of his own drum and would say "Hey Hey Hey" after everyone else so that he was the only one saying it at that time. ha! Nathan and I got a good laugh out of that.

Mason met a friend while waiting in line for the Hey Hey Hey ride...

That evening we went to the Monster Mash Costume Ball for the kiddos. They got to wear their costume and dance on the stage. Mason tore it up!!

Saturday morning we were up and at em' at 9:00am. We had to be at the Bear's Den at 9 to sign up for any of the events that we wanted to do that day/evening. That was a cluster! I hope they make this part of it better in the future. I signed Mason up for the Magic Pumpkin Harvesting and the Haunted Hey Ride. By the time we were finished waiting in the long sign up line it was time to get on another Hey ride for the Magic Pumpkin Harvesting. They gave each of the kids a bag with a ticket, a stick, pumpkin seeds and magic dust and took us out to a field to plant them. The kids wrote their names on their stick and then planted the pumpkin seeds and threw the magic dust on top.

Right after we finished planting our pumpkin we hustled back to the Bears Den so that we could be first in line to ride the antique fire trucks! And Mason got to hang out with Yogi for a bit! The fire trucks took us around the park and they turned on the lights and sirens. Mason loved every second of it. We met up a few hours later to pick up our magically harvested pumpkins! It was adorable and fun.

Then we just hung out until it was time for the costume contest. This was another area that needed better organization! It was a big ol' cluster. They broke the kids up into ages - 5& under, 6-12, & 13+. The groups were humongous! Mason had about 60+ kids in his group. He made it to the second round. We were okay with that and ready to get out of that huge mess!! After the contest the kids trick or treated around all of the campsites and cabins! Most everyone participated and it was fun to see the decorated sites. We were supposed to go on the Haunted Hey ride that evening, but it got cancelled due to the lightning. A big storm came that evening and I am not gonna lie...I was a little frightened being in an RV during a severe storm!

If you ever get the chance to stay at a Jellystone Park, do it! You won't be disappointed. There are so many activities for the kids to do and the parks are super nice. We can't wait to go back! We heard there is one in Tyler TX. We are hoping to go sometime in December and stay and do the Santa Wonderland thing they have there. Sounds like fun to me!

Have you ever been to a Jellystone Park?

  4. Seriously why does Mason look like he is 12 in those pictures? Looks like a tone of fun though. How many campsites are at that place? Do people own the sites, or do you just rent them out?
