{Five things bringing me Joy // vol. 2}

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
- Romans 12:12 (NIV)

It's time for one of my favorite link-ups...Five Things Bringing Me Joy Right Now! We absolutely loved reading all of the posts last month and sharing in the simple joys of life with you. Life can get so busy yet mundane and it's always good to find the joy in the day to day. We all have something bringing us joy, right? We would love for you to join us in sharing your joy.

Details:
Simply choose 5 things that are bringing joy to your life and make it a blog post about it. Link-up the post with us on the fourth Friday of every month. This makes it perfect for a Five on Friday post as well. Also, we will be choosing a guest host each month from those that linked up the previous month. Grab the graphic above and join us!

Here are Five things Bringing Me Joy right now...

O N E // Reading the Bible Cover to Cover
I am so happy that I decided to do this! God is revealing so much to me right now. And I am learning so much. I am taking the time to truly study each book of the bible and being intentional about my time spent doing so. I may only be halfway through Exodus, but it's bringing me so much joy. I love that I am filling minutes of my day in the word and filling my heart with truth. So.much.joy.

T W O // Sweet new friends
Nathan met Chris several months ago at a kayak fishing tournament. They hit it off really well and became instant friends. They remained in touch through text and social media throughout the months and decided it was time for the wives to meet and hang out! So, about four weeks ago we met them at the Dallas World Aquarium for a day. We had the most incredible time together and just knew this was a friendship so perfectly crafted by God. These friends inspire us, encourage us and always point us back to Jesus. The good Lord knew that we needed them in our lives and I couldn't be more thankful. Friends that ask to pray over you over a certain situation are the kind of friends you need in your life! The friendship we have built and are building brings my heart so much joy.

T H R E E // Costumes
It's that time of year! Mason comes home from school and usually changes straight into a costume. If you know Mason, then you know how much he loves to dress up in costumes. And Halloween is one of his favorite times of the year because he can stock up on costumes. He has already gotten two new costumes this year; a pirate suit and a black and white checkered morph suit. And y'all...he LETS me take pictures of him in the costumes. You know how much joy that brings me! He's so darn cute and I can't get enough of his sweet little spirit. I love him so much my heart could burst!

F O U R// Pumpkin everything
Take Mason's love of costumes and multiply that by a gazillion and that's how much I love fall. It's my favorite time of year! It's almost hard to explain, but I just love the feel of fall and everything that encompasses it. And for the love of pumpkins!!! I can't get enough. Mercy, they bring me joy. I've already scattered pumpkin everything all over my house and I've had more PSLs than I care to admit. I can't wait for all of our pumpkin patch trips!!

F I V E // You Loved My Heart to Death
And because I always share a song in these posts, today is no exception. You Loved My Heart to Death has been on repeat lately. Worship music is such a big part of my life. I can't tell you how much joy it brings to my life. Anyhow, this song. Oh, this song. If you haven't heard it stop what you're doing and go have a listen.

All the wrath of God that I
Deserve with every breath
Fell upon Him
And He loved my heart to death

What is bringing you joy right now?

We have two very special guest hosts this month...Sarah at Foxy's Domestic Side and Heather at My Glittery Heart. Hop over to their blogs and say hello. They are both such sweet ladies and I know you will love getting to know them both.

  3. I feel the exact same way about pumpkins and fall in general. They really do make me happy! I feel like I've been in a funk for most of the year, and lately I've been feeling like the funk is slowly lifting. Hallelujah! Have a great weekend, girl!

  4. Can you text me and share with me your game plan of reading the Bible from cover to cover? I would love to do this but I feel a bit overwhelmed. I was curious if there is a "plan" you follow to accomplish this.

  5. I "borrowed" your number four joyful item. To be fair, I think pumpkin excitement is real for about 90% of the blogging world right now! ;)
