We have checked off several more things from our spring time bucket list! Summer is knocking on our door, so I am not sure if we will finish these last few things or not. If not, we'll just carry them over to our summer bucketlist. ;)
We have actually snuck in a few park dates this spring! There is an elementary school around the corner from us and they actually have a pretty decent park. One day on the way to pick up Mason from school I started thinking that some time outside was very much needed. So, I dropped in the dollar store by his school to grab a few outdoor things to bring to the park with us. I bought cap guns, wooden airplanes, finger kites {because I couldn't find one single full size kite}, silly string, a frisbee, etc. We had so much fun! Another time we went we grabbed some snowcones before we went. We should have done that in reverse to cool down after the park, but we weren't thinking right.
This is one that we are going to have to keep working on! One evening we decided to ride over to my in-laws house on our bikes. It's exactly half a mile from driveway to driveway. No big deal. However, we didn't take into account that it's harder on a bike with training wheels on the uneven roads we have in our neighborhood. There were times Mason would get high-centered. And his little legs were working in overdrive. He got tired on our ride back and Nate ended up pulling his bike while I walked him on my bike. We were a hot sweaty mess!
Another thing we've recently checked off our spring bucket list is spring cleaning! There's nothing like expecting visitors to make you clean your house really good! ha.
We are 65% done with our list. I hope to check off a few more, but if not, I am okay with that. We've done a lot and have had a great and busy spring.
Did you make a spring list? Are you close to being done?
Finger kites sound cool and maybe easier to fly than real kites! I might have to look for that!
ReplyDeleteawww, I totally know the kid overdrive in the bike with training wheels. So darn cute though. Fun that they live just a half mile away :) Love that you randomly went to the Dollar Store bought some fun things and headed to the park. Good Mama.
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to go play at the park and take photos! Too bad it isn't the prettiest day around here. I only have 4 out of 12 done on our bucket list so far... but the first day of Summer isn't until June 20th so I think there is plenty of time to wrap things up!
ReplyDeleteY'all have done a fantastic job of checking items of the list - what a fun spring! Is it weird that spring cleaning (or cleaning in general) is basically one of my favorite things. #monicagellar
ReplyDeleteSo. Much. Fun!! That park looks so cool! The perfect day-date for any little guy. And, how are there no regular sized kites out yet?!
ReplyDeleteFamily bike rides!! I'm the only person in our family that doesn't have a bike. How is this even possible?! It looks like such a good time.
YOu got some fun toys at the dollar store. I'll have to check it out. My kids want to be outside all the time, so I'm always trying to find fun things to do. Have you tried the side chalk spray paint? I found it at the Dollar Spot at Target. It was a big hit.
ReplyDeleteSuch great pictures at the park!! We recently went on a family bike ride. Sean has to pull the littles in the "bike trailer" so it's a lot of work...for him. ha!
ReplyDeleteThe playgound looks amazing!!! I want to come play next time. :) Yay for family bike rides. We don't have a buggy for the back of one of ours so that makes it difficult with Emmy girl. Cam and Drew have been doing them around our neighborhood though and it's adorable. We need to borrow a buggy from our friend. Way to go on your spring bucket list.
ReplyDeleteEven if you don't do everything you've had so much fun already that I'd consider it a success! I love that you picked up some fun supplies, but my favorite part is Mason's blue lips from the snow cone! How does Mason like going to the playground just the two of you?
ReplyDeleteSo cute of you to think about picking some stuff up and then surprising Mason and going to the park! I bet he was so excited!
ReplyDeleteFlying kites is by far our favorite windy day activity! IKEA actually has super easy ones to fly. Or Amazon has a ton!
