{A Grateful Heart}

Linking up with Emily at Ember Grey for a Grateful Heart

If I am being honest, it has been a very hard and trying last couple of weeks. Mason has an attitude bigger than Texas lately. He pushes his limits, talks back like no other, and has been throwing some epic tantrums. I know it's all just a stage and part of a learning process and pushing his boundaries to see how much he can get away with, but it's tiring nonetheless. Some days it feels like all we have done is get on to him and correct his behavior. Then it's time for bed and Mason apologizes over and over for his behavior and lays on the sweetness thick and heavy! He definitely knows right from wrong and knows what he is doing. I guess that's why it's so frustrating! But despite it all, I still have a ton to be Grateful for.

+ that the good times outweigh the bad
+ a supportive husband
+ sweet hugs and cuddles
+ the gym as an outlet to let out some frustration
+ snowcone dates
+ playing outside after school
+ when Mason picks flowers and tells me that I am his love
+ Mason's sweet and tender heart
+ puppies that bring a huge amount of happiness to Mason
+ friends that say, "I'll pray for you" without even having to ask them
+ bike rides
+ Spring time temps
+ budding flowers and bluebonnets and the birds chirping

  1. Oh friend, I hear you on the attitudes and tantrums. We've also been dealing with hefty doses of whining.
Praying that your days get a little easier!

  2. Girl you are not alone! :) This week I am grateful for so much as well: A wonderful, supportive husband, amazing parents/in laws, my daughter, my job, a working car, a beautiful house that we have made a home, and last but certainly not least....my growing faith. I hope you have an amazing day sweet mama! I will start praying for you daily, whether it be patience you need or maybe just some extra kisses from your cutie pie. :)

  3. This is a beautiful post. It is so important to make lists like this every now and then. Especially when we are being tested and pulled and perhaps at the end of our rope. It's nice to be reminded that we still have much to be grateful for.

  4. Awww, that is really sweet. My oldest son goes through those stages big time. He is 7 now, but he is one strong willed boy and sometimes I have to ask God if I am really qualified to be his mother. It sounds like you are doing a great job, and focusing on the positives is always a good idea.

  7. A big bag of lame on the pushing boundaries front. Always tiring and frustrating. Good thing they move on eventually.

  8. This is such a great reminder. We always have so many things to be grateful for. We're entering the "terrible" stage and some days I don't think we're going to make it. Know you're not alone in this!
