{It's the Little Things - My sweet little guy}

Happy Wednesday friends!! Linking up with the lovely ladies, Ashley & Jess, for It's the Little Things.

I wanted to share another little story here on the blog and no better time that for "It's the Little Things". This sure has been pulling at my heartstrings all week and makes me weepy. So weepy.

Monday I was working in my office and Mason came in here so excited and says, "When I get bigger I am going to be a Fireman, a Policeman, a Doctor and an am-blee-ance driver!!!"

I hugged him so big and told him that he could be anything that he wants to be and that he will be good at whatever he chooses.

(still hugging me tight) He starts crying. Like really heavy crying.

So I asked him what was wrong and he says...

"Nevermind, I don't want to grow up. I just want to stay your son and your baby."

Cue the tears!! I began bawling. But through the tears I told him that he will always be my baby. Even when he's as big as his Daddy he will still be my baby. Always.

He nods his little head, hugs me tighter and then looks at me and says, "And Daddy's little son too, Mama?"

I just love his sweet little soul.

Memorial Day weekend we traveled to Mason, TX to camp with Nate's family and several other family friends. We left Friday morning, and of course had to stop by Cooper's for lunch. We got to Mason, TX sometime after 2 or 3 pm. The campsites we stayed at, City Park, were right on the golf course. The Rodeo arena, park and baseball fields were also in the same area as the campsites. We loved how open each site was and the amount of room you have to play. We were so glad that we brought Mason's Powerwheel Jeep. While the boys were hooking up the camper we took Mason to the park to play.

Not long after we were there it started pouring rain. So we all moved our chairs under the fifth wheel and just hung out and chatted. The rain lasted a good two hours or so. That evening we made salsa taco and just hung out with everyone.

Saturday some golfed and the rest of us went into the town of Mason to walk around. The weather was on and off with rain which made it hard to walk around a town square. Nathan, Mason and I did find this neat little bakery though. Mason had a cupcake and we sat and chatted with the owner and a young girl that competes in baking. So neat!

That afternoon we checked out the rodeo arena area and just played. That evening we had a cornhole tournament before supper. It was so much fun! I think we had 7 or 8 teams of 2.  The kids ran around looking for chipmunks while we played.

Sunday was Mason's birthday and the day we planned on going into Fredericksburg for lunch. We ate at Mamacitas and it was delicious. They put Mason in a sombrero and sang to him and gave him a bowl full of cherries....so he was happy! After lunch we walked around Fredericksburg, dodging rain and humidity. We went to a bakery that our best friend's aunt works at and she just happened to be working!! We all got ice cream and Mason also got a cookie. It was delicious and the atmosphere was great.

It poured the rest of the day/evening and wasn't showing any signs of letting up. So, Mason, Nathan and I decided to head home instead of waiting until the morning. I'm glad we did. It gave us all of Monday to hang out and get things done.

If you ever visit the Hill Country, I definitely suggest staying in Mason...or at least visiting it. It's so nice there!!

{Weekend Wrapup}

Happy Monday friends!!! Even though this weekend was a good one, it flew by too fast!!! It always does, though.

Friday afternoon Nathan, Mason and I tried a new snow cone place in town. It was delicious! We all agreed that it was our new favorite. Their ice was shaved so finely...not a single big chunk in any of our cups and the flavors were so good. We will be spending some time there this Summer, for sure. They also have a chalkboard painted on the side of their building and Mason thought it was the coolest thing. After snow cones we went to the alteration shop to have Mason's tux pants and shirt taken in. He's the ring bearer for Nate's brother's wedding on the 14th.

 Goodness! Why does he look like a 7 year old here? Oh my heart!!!

Anyhow...that evening we just hung out with neighbors and played outside all evening. We all slept in on Saturday morning and it was glorious!!! We hung out outside for a while and then it was time to get ready for a birthday party. Or so we thought! ha. It was actually on Sunday, which we found out later after driving to their house. Oh well, just means we were more prepared for Sunday. We had lunch at a new place we had been wanting to try and it was amazing!!! They had a good variety of food and everything we got was delicious.

That afternoon/evening I had a girls day with my Mother in Law. We were in wedding/rehearsal dinner mode. We went to Hobby Lobby, the mall and the rehearsal dinner location to nail that down. We got so much done and had a really great day.

Sunday we woke up and played outside again before going to the birthday party. It was a pool party, so most of the dads swam with the kids. Mason had so much fun and didn't want to leave. We also lucked out by being one of the last of 4 kids there. They forgot to do the pinata and so they let the 4 that were still there hit it. Mason got a ton of candy and play dinosaurs and such. He also got to take home 3 goodie bags {she forgot to hand them out} and a bunch of dino masks. He adores any kind of mask.

After the party we ran by the grocery store and then home to play outside!! We also grilled out that evening. It was such a fun time. We definitely weren't ready to turn in on Sunday night.
