{Fall Festival - FCA}

This past Thursday we attended the FCA {Ferris Christian Academy} Fall Festival.
I can't tell you how excited/anxious I was for his first carnival!! I looked forward to it all week.
It didn't disappoint!
Mason had a ball and was so excited for us, his Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and Cousin to be at his school!
He played all kinds of games, won a cake on the cake walk and visited with everyone.
It was a good night.
It does my heart good to see that boy happy :)

This face makes me laugh!

Mason kept stealing the ducks and taking off!

{Weekend Wrap-up - Pictures and Videos}

Time to talk about our weekend...I mean, it's only Wednesday! ha!
This week is flying by {obviously}.
We had another great weekend...just wish they lasted longer.

Friday we had our follow up apt at Children's hospital for Mason. It was to meet with the Neurologist {procedural apt for first time seizure patients} to see if they felt the need for further testing. At the beginning of the apt they took his blood pressure, weight, height and head circumference.

Stats:
Height - 31 inches
Weight - 25lbs, 5oz
Head - 41 {I believe, Mason was crying at this point, didn't want that thing wrapped around his noggin'}

Blood pressure was good.

Then we met with the specialist. She took Mason's info from birth until now and put it in the computer at Children's. Anytime we go there they will have everything right there in front of them {let's pray we never have to go there again, though!} We talked for probably an hour and she checked all of Mason's vitals. She didn't see the need for any further testing...so no EEG, or Catscan. Yay! She said that the seizure was a result of coming off the virus, dehydration and low glucose levels. She said it's pretty common for kids his age. The Specialist is very confident it will not happen again, but gave us some helpful information just in case it does. We do not have to see the Neurology dept again, unless he has another seizure.

Praise the Lord!!

I am incredibly thankful for the health of my baby boy.

Being in that waiting room {with not so healthy kids} was a very humbling experience. It was so hard to see all of those babies in wheel chairs and whatnot. It was such a struggle and heavy on my heart. On one side I was incredibly thankful that my son is healthy and on the other my heart was hurting for all of the kids who weren't. Lord please touch and heal them all.

The rest of the day was spent at the outdoor mall in Cedar Hill and Babies/Toys R Us. Mason did so well, never even fussed to get out of the buggy. Yay! We had a really great day!We treated him to some new toys for being such a good boy.

That evening was Nate's softball game at Big League Dreams. Mason loves it there. He feels like such a big kid hanging out with his friends.

After the game we went to dinner with good friends at El Fenix. We got there 10 minutes before closing and they sat us and treated us very well.

Mason, Nate and Kynna @ El Fenix

Saturday was pretty much a Mama/Mason day! It was nice, but we missed Daddy so much. Nate had a Union Meeting for work that took about 3 1/2 hours of his day. He came home and had lunch with us and was gone again. His best friend invited him to game 6 of the RANGERS/Detroit playoff game. He had a blast. Mason took a 2 1/2 hour nap that afternoon and then he and I went to Walmart. He was sooooooo good! Of course we didn't leave there without a few goodies for him! He got a new Turtle toy holder for the bathtub, a new bath sponge, new bath toys and those fizz color changers for the bathtub. He loves it all, but makes it even harder to get him out of the tub! That evening we hung out at home, made pizza and watched the game. We took a few silly pictures too!

Sunday was a family fun day. We went to the Texas State Fair. We got there early - like before anything even opened. Our first stop - none other than the John Deere tractor stand, of course. Mason scored big time. He got new tractors, a new tractor cup, a John Deere hat and his Nana and Papa got him a few Christmas gifts. Mason isn't spoiled in the slightest. ha. Mason seemed to love the Fair and was really good for us. He sat in his stroller a lot of the time {which doesn't happen too often these days}. Mason rode 3 rides with Daddy and seemed to love them. Mommy and Daddy had a Fletcher's Corn Dog {of course} and Mason had a grilled cheese on Texas Toast. We checked out all of the vehicles and Mason loved "driving" the big trucks. We were there a little over 3.5 hours. Mason was asleep before we even got out of the parking lot.

Daddy didn't like this one too much, went too high in the air. ha

I love Mason's face in this one

Story about these pictures - they're all taken with my phone because somebody {me} left the memory card for our big camera in the computer. I was so mad at myself!!!

And a couple of videos.

Mason has gotten down the word "No". And it's the cutest No in the world.

And the ride at the Fair. This one is kind of noisy.

How was your weekend?

{Halloween Costume Sneak Peak}

Could have something to do with the fact that we're Baseball fanatics...
Could have something to do with the fact that the RANGERS are going to the World Series.
Could have something to do with the fact that Mason is adorable when he "yells" for baseball.
Could have something to do with miniature baseball pants, little arm-bands,or tiny socks.

Oh I love him!!!

Nevermind the mac-n-cheese in his hair!

This face cracks me up!
What are your Halloween plans this year?

{Mason's Thank you video}

We made this video shortly after Mason got out of the hospital.
We wanted to thank everyone for the prayers!!

We are so blessed!!

 Chrissy over at {The Johnsons} awarded me the Liebster award. The Liebster blog award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster is a German word meaning dear, sweet, kind, nice, good, beloved, lovely, kindly, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.

To keep this award going and pass it along to other new deserving blogs, the recipient must now recognize five other bloggers with less than 200 followers that have really stood out in the crowd.

The rules for the Liebster Award are:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top five picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.

{1} Chrissy @ The Johnsons - cutest Kindergarten teacher you will ever meet! Her blog is so fun and adorable. She's very crafty, incredibly organized and has great style. She's married to a Nathan {like me} and has two of the cutest pups ever. I love to follow her blog and keep up with all of her neat little finds at antique outings!! Go over and say hi, you can thank me later ;)

{2} Leslie @ Totally Tanner - Les is my sister and I love her {duh}. She has a 4 {almost 5 year old} that just started Pre-k. She started her blog to keep up with the T-man. I may be bias, but he's totally adorable and says some of the funniest things you will ever hear.

  {3} Heather @ A Young Wife's Tale -   I love, love love Heather's blog.   Heather shares her life stories {currently living in the UK} and all things Mommy. She has the cutest little girl, Milo with a head full of hair to be jealous of. :)

{4] Etosia @ Raising Rylin - I may be cheating here - not sure how many followers Etosia has, but wanted to feature her anyway. Great blog!! Etosia just married her best friend and is on cloud 9. She has an adorable little girl that will be turning one soon. Another wonderful "Mommy" blog. Go say hello!!

{5} Miranda @ Aimless Translation -   Another Mommy blog {surprise}...but get this....she's a mommy to a blonde haired Mason!!!!! Cool, right?!? It's so fun to read about another Mason. Miranda is currently blogging a 30 Day challenge. It's fun to keep up with.

{6} Sheri @ Me and my Tadpole - Sheri is such a sweet person! She blogs about her son, life, posts great recipes {with picture that will make your mouth water}, as well as other phenomenal pictures.

Sorry, I bent the rules a little and featured 6...but you will be glad I did. Go say hi to all of these fabulous ladies.

{Catch-up Post}

Sorry for being MIA lately! A lot has been going on. {as always}
Catching up here...

Friday after Mason got out of school we noticed he was warm and was quickly getting warmer. We ran around the corner from my work to CVS and bought a thermometer and some Motrin. His temp read 104. We gave him the Motrin and contemplated going to the emergency room. We decided to wait it out a bit. Mason's temperature quickly came down and he wasn't showing any other symptoms of being sick, just tired. The fever came out of nowhere. Friday night we spent at home just lounging and hanging out. Saturday Mason ran fever off and on, but it never exceeded past 102. I noticed that his sinus area looked swollen and started wondering if he had a sinus infection. But that baffled me too, because he didn't have green/yellow snot {sorry, tmi}, and he acted fine, just a little stuffy. I also wondered about an ear infection because he was so much worse at night time, when lying down. That and he kept scratching behind his ears. {It's amazing all the things you think it "could" be} Sunday he was pretty much fever free...but around 3-4pm I noticed a rash on his tummy and back. Of course that's a sign of strep throat...but he never once acted like his throat hurt him. Monday he went to school and did great, but his nose was bleeding a little.

So, I made him an appointment for Tuesday morning. I wanted to rule out things like an ear infection or strep...in case he needed antibiotics. We went to a new doctor {I'll post about soon}. LOVE! Seriously. She looked at Mason and thought maybe he had Fifth's Disease {a viral infection that causes fever and a rash}. She looked at his throat and it looked fine. She was really doubting strep, but wanted to swab him just in case. She said the rash didn't really seem like a "strep" type of rash. By the time we had gotten to the dr the rash was really red and covered all of his stomach and back and a little on his neck and legs. They swabbed him and 10 minutes later much to both of our surprise, it was strep. What?!? He's been eating and drinking fine, has never acted like he has a sore throat, barely any coughing or anything {Praise God}. He's been fever free since Saturday, too.

We got his antibiotic and I gave it to him around 10:45 am on Tuesday morning. By evening time his rash was already fading, and his nose was a little more clear. This morning when we woke up the rash was completely gone. I think Mason is already responding well to the antibiotics. Yay!

So, needless to say - we spent our weekend snuggled up on the couch, in our jammies watching College football {GO OU!!!} and a little Post Season baseball {GO RANGERS}. And of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Chuggington too!!

Minus our sweet boy not feeling that well, we had a great weekend. It was nice to just be home and doing nothing. And I mean nothing. That's rare for us.

Here it is Wednesday and I haven't blogged in like forever. Monday was hectic, Most of Tuesday was spent running around {dr, drug store, etc} and now here we are, Wednesday - Boom! Work has been insanely busy and when we're not working we are having to pack up our office. We're moving the weekend of the 22nd. I'm hoping this is a blessing. It's a lot closer to home and Mason's school. I just hope with the traffic it's not a worse drive than I make to Arlington.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great week so far.

Pictures -
It was a little rainy on Sunday - and by "a little" I mean enough for me to dig out Mason's rain boots and take some pictures!!

Look at all of that hair.

Thanks Aunt Nonna for the awesome rain boots!

Throwing a fit because I made him come inside.

Then he saw his tractor and all is right with the world!
