{Weekend Wrap-up // Field trip, lake, Waco Zoo, Bluebonnets, birthday celebration, wedding dress shopping}

Although the weekend went by entirely too fast, it sure was a good one. And I'm not even mad about starting a new week because it's one week closer to summer! Mason and I are counting down the days. We live for our sweet, sweet summers around here. Here's a look at our weekend.

F R I D A Y -

Nathan and Mason spent the day at Dallas Heritage Village for Mason's third grade field trip. I wasn't able to go, but they were so great to take pictures for me. They had lunch in Nancy's Garden, which is the name of my Grandmother who recently passed away. So, that was really special. Nathan was a chaperone of Mason and two of his sweet friends. They had a great time!

That evening we picked up some sandwiches from our favorite place, Farmluck, and drove out to the lake. We ate supper there! It's so relaxing and peaceful out there. Mason swam, Nate fished and I just took it all in.

We ended the night with ice cream from Dairy Queen! Mason got one that was practically bigger than his head.

Saturday we had lunch at another one of our local favorites, Omas, and then drove to Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. We had thought about going to the drive through zoo in Glen Rose, but decided to save that for another day. We really love the Waco zoo. It's small, inexpensive (no parking fee either) and just really nice. We had an amazing time together! Waco is just over an hour from us which isn't too bad. However, we had the doors off the Jeep and there were some strong winds! It was quite the adventure, that's for sure.

And of course a short little video from our trip...

After the zoo, we took all of the backroads home. We wanted to avoid the highway where it was so windy and we wanted to see some pretty country. We came up by the lake and turned off a side road. We found some bluebonnet patches and it made me realize I hadn't taken any of Mason in them yet. So we took care of that! They'll be gone in a matter of days.

We celebrated Nate's Grandmother's birthday by taking her to lunch! We enjoyed a nice meal and then went back to her place for dessert. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside in the courtyard. NeNaw's good friend came down to hang out with us.

That afternoon Nate and Mason went to hang out with Nate's dad and brother while his mom and I joined the rest of the bridal party at a bridal shop! Michelle tried on a ton of dresses and looked absolutely stunning in every single one of them! It's going to be a tough choice for her! After our appointment, we went to eat at BJs and it was pretty good. We had a nice time.

Busy, but oh so good weekend. Happy Monday y'all!!
