24 Weeks

During pregnancy week 24, your baby is now more than one pound (1.3 pounds) and is about 11.8 inches long! As you track your pregnancy week by week, from this point out, your baby will resemble a tiny albeit complete little human being! Your baby continues to grow more proportional each and every day. During pregnancy week 24 his organ systems continue to mature as do the central nervous system, digestive system and even reproductive and circulatory systems. Your baby's lungs are also starting to form little branches and will eventually start producing a substance called surfactant, which prevents her lungs from sticking together and helps the baby to breathe after birth. The amniotic fluid surrounding your baby begins to increase in volume after about pregnancy 24 weeks. This continues until delivery when your uterus will hold up to 2 pints of amniotic fluid.

How far along? 24 weeks 5 days
Maternity Clothes? Yes, definitely!

Sleep: I fall asleep quickly, but wake up several times throughout the night/morning.

Movement: Lots and lots of movement. Mason moves around like crazy and the kicks are getting stronger. I love that feeling of him getting stronger. When I feel him moving or kicking I sit back and just take it all in!

Food Cravings: Not really craving specifics. Still like Mexican food, alot. Even though sometimes it doesn't like me (indigestion). And of course I am always craving Famous Daves...but that's a crave I can't satisfy all the time since it's in Abilene. We did get to have it this past weekend though and it was GREAT!!!

Food Aversions: Popcorn, again. I felt nauseous when I smelled it during the first trimester, then when I hit the 2nd trimester it didn't bother me. Now that I near the end of the the 2nd trimester that aversion has come back. A co-worker makes it everyday and I get sooooo nauseous!

Symptoms: Swollen feet/ankles, indigestion, discoloration on my face

Belly button in or out? In but only barely. It's starting to surface! Won't be long, I am sure.

What am I looking forward to? Dr appt the 10th, get to hear the heartbeat. But not looking forward to the Glucose testing! I've heard that's awful. And of course I always look forward to the next time I feel him kicking!!

Weekly Joy: Kicks, definitely the kicks. And that Daddy gets to feel them too!
