{Texas Tuesday // Texas Rangers}

Linking up with Amanda and J for Texas Tuesday!!

You should too :)

I love this linkup! I mean, who doesn't love all things TEXAS?!?
 I know I wrote about the Texas Rangers last week for my Texas Tuesday, but I'm doing it again this week.

Hubby and I went to the game this past Saturday for a very special occassion.
The homecoming of our best friend, Captain Trent Brower!!!
Trent is a B1 pilot in the Air Force and lives here in TEXAS!!
He returned from deployment on the 26th of July and we all rented a SUITE to celebrate!!
We had such a fantastic time.

Around the bottom of the 3rd inning the camera guy came up and put Trent on the big screen to give them a big Texas thanks and welcome. It was super awesome. I recorded it below.

{Vacation - Day 5}

Day five – Roswell, Ruidoso, Alamogordo NM

On Thursday we woke up to a flat tire on our rental car. We had to wait over an hour and a half for someone to come change the tire, then another 30 minutes to change the tire, and then we had to get the tire repaired in Ruidoso. That pushed our whole day about 3 hours behind. We had planned on making a day trip to Roswell. It was a 2 hour trip 1 way, so we prepared for lots of driving. It was pretty disappointing to say the least. The town banked off the cheesy little alien stuff. And frankly, the town was kind of dirty. We didn’t really enjoy it and spent maybe 45 minutes at the most there. We did get blizzards from Dairy Queen right outside of the town…so I guess that made it worth it. Ha! After Roswell we went back to a few shops in Ruidoso – but it was 5 and almost everything was closed. After Ruidoso we hit a few wineries on the way back, in the pouring down rain. We had dinner and let Mason play at the park. Then back home to rest for our trip to Carlsbad the next day!

{Last day of Vacation - Carlsbad Caverns}

On the last day of our trip we did a little hiking...unprepared hiking.
It was torture!!
We really wanted to hike to the other side of this Trestle we had been visiting/seeing throughout our week long stay in NM. We were under the impression that it wasn't too far down. Boy were we wrong! It was almost 2 miles down the mountain.
Doesn't sound that bad, right?!?!
Until you're a mile and a half down and remember that you have to hike back UP that 1.5 miles...with a 2 year old.
Helicopter....PLEASE!!!
Mason got so tired on the way down and wanted to be carried up the entire way back. We had to take turns carrying him. We didn't bring water or anything and we literally felt like we were going to pass out from dehydration/exhaustion!!
It was fun, the scenery was beautiful and the weather was nice...but we just weren't prepared. I guess next time we know!!

After our hike we loaded up the car and headed to Carlsbad Caverns!! We were really excited about this part of our trip. We got to the caverns about an hour too late for the 'big' tour, but we were still able to tour the "Big Room" in the Caverns. It ended up being perfect. It was about an hour and a half tour...and about all that we could do with our little curious and adventurous Masonbug!! The caverns were beautiful and we were just in awe. I think I snapped 200 pictures alone. I knew that I had a small chance of getting any good pictures without a tripod, so I took tons in hopes of 1 or 2 good pictures. We had such a great time. It was an awesome way to end our vacation!!

Days 1 & 2 here, Days 3 & 4 here, Day 5 here

{Genius?!}

Y'all...I downloaded a Barney cd from Amazon, put it on a cd and put it in our car.
GENIUS!!!
Makes car rides more enjoyable with a toddler.

{Texas Tuesday // Texas Rangers}

Linking up with Amanda and J for Texas Tuesday!

For Texas Tuesday it's only appropriate that I talk about my Texas Rangers!! Honestly, I am really surprised that I am just now doing so. If you know me you know that I am addicted to baseball and my Texas Rangers.
There is nothing in the world like being at the Ballpark in Arlington; the sounds, the smells, the sights and of course the game!! It's my most favorite place to be.
We've already been to several games this year and we'll be there this Saturday...in a SUITE!!!!
Another thing I love about going to the ballpark is that this is one of the theme songs they play.

Have you ever been? Isn't it amazing?!?
