{First DSMHL leveling game}

 It’s that time of year again—fall hockey season is officially here, and we couldn’t be more excited! This season, Mason is playing for both the house league and the high school league, which means double the action and double the fun. We’ve already kicked things off with our first leveling game for the house league, and while we didn’t win, I couldn’t be prouder of how the team performed. We faced off against a really tough team, and though we came up short, it was clear that we gave it everything we had. The energy and effort were there, and I have no doubt that we’re going to come out strong in the next couple of games. I can feel it in my bones—we’ve got this.

Having that first game under our belts is a huge confidence booster, and now we’re all ready to take on whatever the season throws our way. There’s something special about this team; they really gel together both on and off the ice. The camaraderie and teamwork are already so strong, and I think that’s going to make this an incredibly fun and successful season for all of us. Everyone is supportive, and I can already see the chemistry building. This is going to be one memorable season.

One really unique aspect of this season is that one of the moms on the team is a certified yoga instructor, and she’s going to lead a hockey-based yoga session for the players before each game. How cool is that? It’s a great way for the kids to stretch, focus their minds, and get into the right headspace before hitting the ice. I think it will be such a great addition to their routine and will definitely help improve both their physical flexibility and mental concentration. It’s always amazing to see parents step up in creative ways to support the team, and I love how this season is already bringing so many fresh ideas.

It’s also hard to believe how much Mason has grown and improved over the past year. When I think back to this time last year, it’s incredible to see how far he’s come. His grit, determination, hard work, and passion for the game have all been so evident. He’s become a true force to be reckoned with on the ice. His growth as both a player and a person is something I’m beyond proud of, and I feel so fortunate to have a front-row seat to witness it all. There’s something so special about watching him pour everything he has into something he loves—and it’s inspiring to see how his hard work is paying off.

This season is shaping up to be one for the books, and I can’t wait to see what the next few months hold for Mason and the team. Let’s go, team!
