Last night was one of those evenings that made me pause and smile—a little teary-eyed, a lot grateful. The 2025 Mansfield Hockey Banquet was everything you could hope for when you gather to close out a season: full of laughter, celebration, memories, and a deep sense of community.
The Mansfield Hockey Club Booster Club went above and beyond to make the night special. From the beautiful decorations to the delicious food and the heartfelt moments woven throughout the evening, every detail was thoughtfully done. It was clear how much love and effort went into it, and we are so thankful for all who worked behind the scenes to create such a meaningful event.
As we walked into the banquet, I couldn’t help but reflect on what this hockey season has meant to our family. Mansfield Hockey has brought so much more than just ice time and game days—it’s brought lifelong friendships, a supportive community, and coaches who pour into these kids not only as athletes, but as people. Watching them grow, stumble, get back up, and keep going has been a gift we don’t take for granted.
The highlight of the night, though? Without question, it was watching Mason receive the “Good Character” award for his team.
I think Nate and I may have stopped breathing for just a second as they called his name—our hearts just about burst. To us, this isn’t just an award. It’s the award. Yes, hockey skills matter. Yes, it's fun to celebrate wins and stats and milestones. But character? That’s something you carry with you long after the gear is hung up. That’s what lasts. That’s who you are when no one’s watching.
To see Mason honored for the way he treats others, the way he leads by example, and the way he handles himself both on and off the ice—it was the proudest moment of the season for us. More than any goal or assist or shutout, this spoke straight to who he is becoming.
Mason, we are so proud of the young man you are. You play with heart, you treat people with respect, and you carry yourself with humility and kindness. Watching you grow not just as a player, but as a person, is one of the greatest joys of our lives.
As we wrapped up the evening surrounded by teammates, parents, coaches, and friends who’ve become like family, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude. This banquet wasn’t just a celebration of a season—it was a reminder of what makes this club so special. The jerseys will change, seasons will pass, but the character, the connection, and the love for the game and each other will stick with us for a lifetime.
Thank you, Mansfield Hockey, for an incredible year. šš¤š
Here’s to the memories we’ve made—and the ones still to come.
