{Summer update // We got our CJ 7 back!!! }

Wow...another month (plus) has passed since I posted last. I thought I was going to be able to keep up on this blog, but then life happened. We've been on several more trips and just haven't had the time to dedicate to this space. I do miss it, so I am going to try to get back into the blogging world. Try, being the keyword here. So, what have we been up to?

We went to Mason/Fredericksburg/Luckenbach back in May for a long weekend (our annual Memorial Day trip), then we went to Wimberley TX and stayed in a river house for another long weekend, then we spent six days in Beaver's Bend / Broken Bow, OK around the 4th of July and then for our big summer vacation we hiked it on over to the mountains...Angel Fire, NM to be exact. I will blog about each one of these trips individually (someday). All four of these trips were a blast. We made so many new memories that we'll remember for a lifetime. We've only been back a couple of days and I'm already dreaming of where to go next. I have a bit of a gypsy soul and love to travel to new places. I mean, if you couldn't tell.

What else have we been up to? Well, we bought back our old Jeep CJ 7. Crazy story, kind of like our Diesel story, things just find their way back to us. Only God. He's so good, y'all. This Jeep was the first vehicle I ever bought on my own right out of high school in 1999. We had it and built it until 2008 and sold it. We wanted to start having children and knew we wouldn't use the rig once that happened. We regretted selling it years later. Well, fast forward to the week before we left for Beaver's Bend. I saw a CJ 5 on Facebook for sale and I fell in love. It was a pretty Tiffany blue color and just gorgeous. Well, it sold in a matter of hours. Nate knew I was disappointed and says out of the blue, "what if we could buy our old CJ back?" I asked if it was for sale and Nate said let me find out. Long story short, he emails the guy that bought it from us asking if he'd be interested in selling it, the guy writes back saying that we had impeccable timing and yes he would be willing to sell it (he took a job out of state). While we enjoyed every minute of our trip to Beaver's Bend we couldn't wait to get back and take a look at our old CJ. We got back on Sunday and made plans to go see it on Monday. We knew we needed to keep an open mind since 10 years had passed since we sold it. Well, we get there and the Jeep starts right up (after sitting for 2 years without being cranked). And, it was AWESOME! The guy that bought it from us was an Engineer and spent the better part of those 10 years rebuilding and rewiring the whole entire thing. It has a new propane injected motor to boot! We fell in love with that ol' thing all over again! We did all the banking and brought it home on Wednesday!!! So, we are now a two Jeep family. It's so weird seeing it back on our property after ten years, but oh so cool! We are ecstatic. And once we stay home for more than a few days we have some projects planned for it. Without further ado, here is CHIEF!!!!!

And that's basically what we've been up to this summer. What have you been up to? When do the kids start back to school? We got 8/23 and I am dreading it. Not ready at all. I just want Mason home with me all the time!

Hope you're having a great summer so far!
